When the European Journey arrives in Turin, they are given a warm welcome at the palace of the Piemonte Regional Council, known as Palazzo Lascaris. The Vice Governor of the Piemonte Region, Mrs. Marta Minervini, welcomes the runners on behalf of a delegation of distinguished officials.

 

At a reception in Venice at Palazzo Balbi, seat of the Veneto Regional Council, the Alderman for Social Policy, Mr. Raffaele Zanon, presents the team with the city’s flag. Mr. Zanon speaks of the need to educate people to be tolerant in spite of cultural or social barriers.

 

In Turin, the European Journey meet with Prof. Maria Azzario Chiesa, president of UNESCO for northern Italy and national councillor of UNESCO.
